Fantasy City - Final by MiG-05 Fantasy City - Final by MiG-05
Another one for the books! Here's the final stage of this one. Some of you might remember me submitting it some time ago, only barely half- finished :[link]

Well here's the whole thing finally all done and over with, and by God it is about damn time that it is too. Been postponing work on it for so long that I finally snapped and picked it up again, working on it up until now. Took me time too ( don't ask how long since I'm not sure myself ). Anyways, I wanted to make a city and so I did.

I hope you like it.

Technique: Ink ( on paper )

Actual size: A4

Ps. Sorry for the heinously large file size but I thought that you might want to look at it a little up close as well :) Ds

Edit: You can get a closer look of this one via this [link]

Phenomenal work. It's incredible draftsmanship of course, but the composition is what really makes it stand out to me.  The rocks in front, the white line of the elevated road that draws you into the city...it's just got a great flow.  I was studying those rocks last night as I struggle with ways to render them in ink...

The shapes are definitly fantasy but the structures of the city is just a bit futuristic, that's really a nice mix. ^_^

I can see the love that went into this piece: it's so detailed and the line art and shading is very neat and beautiful. The idea is wonderful and it's composed lovely; I love the perspective in this and the mixing of styles in the design of the city. All that diversity in forms gives a very medieval feel to the city, but all those suspended roads are something that I'm used to see in futuristic images of cities-their combination is very interesting and it makes me wonder how would a 12 century man had imagined the future.
